HUBBARD

March 5

Assault: A Hubbard woman called 911 to report that her boyfriend had struck her.

Theft: Two people were accused of shoplifting items at Devine’s Shop ’n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.

March 6

Criminal mischief: A key was used to damage a vehicle’s finish in the 1100 block of Doris Drive.

March 7

Criminal damaging: A Parkview Drive man reported someone cut down two pine trees on his property without permission.

Arrests: The Girard Municipal Court issued warrants against two township residents in unrelated cases. One person was wanted on charges of forgery and identity fraud, the other on one count of receiving stolen property.

March 8

Menacing: A Grandview Avenue woman told police her former husband drove by her residence in a harassing manner and made obscene gestures.

Assault: A man reported his daughter and her boyfriend assaulted the accuser’s 10-year-old son at an apartment in the 200 block of North Main Street.

Theft: A South Main Street man’s credit card was stolen.

Theft: A woman reported property had been removed from her mother-in-law’s Elmwood Drive home.

March 9

Assault: Police received a report of an incident on Jackson Street.

LIBERTY

March 5

Menacing: A North Gate Boulevard boy in his front yard said a 52-year-old man across the street threatened to harm him.

Assault: A nurse at Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, was treated for injuries after saying a 15-year-old female patient had shoved her to the ground, causing the nurse to hit her head and lose consciousness, as she tried to break up a fight.

Theft: A 34-year-old Youngstown man was charged, accused of leaving Denny’s Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., without paying a $15 food bill.

March 6

Drugs: After being pulled over in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue, police charged a Youngstown man, 41, with possession of dangerous drugs as well as several traffic offenses. Twenty-five pills thought to be Vicodin were found that the man claimed he had gotten from a friend, police said.

Arrest: Township authorities took custody of a 54-year-old Youngstown man at Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Youngstown, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Identity theft: An East Montrose Street man found out his debit card had been used to make two unauthorized charges.

Menacing: A Pleasant Valley Road woman told officers a Girard man, 42, became upset about the manner in which she took her medications and threatened to strike her with a vase.

Identity fraud: A Townsend Avenue woman reported her credit-card statement advised that she owed $380 on accounts she said she had never opened. It appeared the charges came from a San Jose, Calif., medical center, a report said.

March 7

Drug paraphernalia: After stopping a driver they said nearly caused an accident near Gypsy Lane, authorities charged the 51-year-old Niles man with possession of drug paraphernalia. A pipe with suspected marijuana residue was found, a report showed.

Theft: A 33-year-old Youngstown man was charged in the theft of two curling irons from Sally Beauty Supply, 3551 Belmont Ave.

Breaking and entering: Someone forced open the rear door to a mail room at a Belmont Avenue trailer park, though it was undetermined if anything was missing.

March 8

Drugs: A vehicle illegally parked in a handicap space at a Belmont Avenue store caught the attention of police, who arrested a Niles man, 20, on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after saying they found a suspected marijuana pipe, as well as a bag of suspected marijuana in his sock. Also taken into custody was a 38-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a felony theft charge.

March 9

Theft by deception: A Cardinal Drive woman told authorities she paid a man $6,781 in advance to perform construction and remodeling work at her residence, but that work in the kitchen and other areas was never finished.

GIRARD

March 8

Felonious assault: Police spoke with a North State Street woman being treated at Forum Health Northside Medical Center for a deep cut suffered during an earlier altercation with a friend. The accuser said the female friend had pushed her from behind, causing the woman to strike her head on a mirror.

Arrest: A Girard woman surrendered her 17-year-old son, who she said had run away. The boy also was wanted on an order issued by Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center in Youngstown.

March 9

Menacing: A 10-year-old Girard girl told officers a boy, 12, threatened to have friends come to her residence and beat her.

March 10

Theft: An East Liberty Street man’s stereo was removed from his truck.
