In the Valley

As the metropolitan planning organization for Mahoning and Trumbull counties, Eastgate is administering federal stimulus money for transportation projects. A list of proposals:

Transportation projects

Mahoning County, Mahoning River Corridor of Opportunity lower connector bridge project, new bridge construction, Struthers, $1.35 million.

Trumbull County, U.S. Route 422-South State Street, Interstate 80/state Route 11 to Girard south corporation limit, repair and widen substandard lane widths, Girard, $800,000.

Trumbull County, U.S. Route 422, Ohio Department of Transportation urban paving initiative, Niles, $250,000.

Trumbull County, state Route 45-Mahoning Avenue, Main Street Northwest to city east corporation limit rehab resurfacing, Warren, $770,000.

Mahoning County, West Fifth Street, rehab and resurfacing, Beloit, $300,000.

Mahoning County, South Avenue, mill and fill Phase I, mill and fill existing three to five lane roadway from Presidential Drive to Mathews Road, Mahoning County Engineer’s Office, Boardman, $1.1 million.

Trumbull County, Trumbull County Bridge Load Rating Project, perform or update the Load Rating Analysis on 140 Trumbull County bridges with a span of 20 feet or more, Trumbull County Engineer, Warren, $876,500.

Trumbull County, Trumbull County Bridge Load Rating Project, perform or update the Load Rating Analysis on 179 Trumbull County bridges with a span of 20 feet or less, Trumbull County Engineer, Warren, $208,000.

Trumbull County, Trumbull County Bridge Assessment, evaluate 380 Trumbull County bridges for susceptibility to water damage, Trumbull County Engineer, Warren, $250,000.

Mahoning County, East Federal Street resurfacing and safety upgrades, resurfacing and safety upgrades on Youngstown’s primary arterial entrances from the east, Youngstown, $450,000.

Trumbull County, Olive Street resurfacing of a 0.75 miles stretch of road, McDonald, $319,500.

Mahoning County, Roadway resurfacing program, resurfacing and repair of individual roadway sections within the city, Campbell, $500,000.

Trumbull County, Tod Avenue resurfacing from West Market Street to the city corporation limits, Warren, $700,000.

Mahoning County, resurfacing program, milling and paving of State Street, Struthers, $500,000.

Trumbull County, Hallock Young Road repaving, state Route 45 east to Austintown Warren Road, Lordstown, $500,000.

Mahoning County, Glen Bridge enhancement, rehabilitate existing bridge including new railing, lighting, drainage improvements, substructure repairs and painting, Mahoning County Engineer’s Office, Boardman, $400,000.

Mahoning County, Western Reserve Road Phase 4, repair and widen substandard lane widths on U.S. Route 62 to east of state Route 46, Mahoning County Engineer’s Office, $625,000.

Mahoning County, Western Reserve Road Phase 3, Repair and widen substandard lane widths on state Route 46 to Tippecanoe Road, Mahoning County Engineer’s Office, $460,000.

Mahoning County, state Route 45-Salem Warren Road/Leffingwell Road, correct vertical alignment of the state Route 45 profile to provide adequate sight distance, State of Ohio, Ellsworth Township, $100,000.

Trumbull County, Salt Springs Road, state Route 45 west to Ellsworth Bailey Road, Lordstown, $400,000.

Trumbull County, road resurfacing program, milling and resurfacing of state Route 304, state Route 616 and U.S. Route 62, Hubbard, $1 million.
