Our Valley Cooks event is Saturday at Mr. Anthony’s

BOARDMAN — Our Valley Cooks, a recipe contest featuring area residents, will be at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave., Boardman, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The event will also feature a food expo with about 100 vendors and a cooking demonstration by celebrity chef Aaron McCargo Jr., the season four winner of “The Next Food Network Star.” McCargo hosts his own show on the Food Network called “Big Daddy’s House” and during the event he will conduct a question and answer segment, as well as sign autographs.

Tickets for the event are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at www.ourvalleycooks.org. The Web site also includes more information and a schedule of events.
