Police release woman who was arrested in mass slayings probe
CLEVELAND (AP) — Police have released a woman who was arrested on suspicion of obstructing justice in the investigation of last week’s mass slaying in Cleveland.
Cleveland Police Lt. Thomas Stacho says Summar Brown was released Sunday from Cleveland City Jail. No charges have been filed.
Brown was arrested on Friday after she was discovered in the house where 33-year-old Devon Crawford killed himself after a confrontation with police. Crawford is suspected of killing his wife, his sister-in-law and three young children on Thursday.
Brown has said she is Crawford’s cousin. Police plan to present evidence against Brown to a Cuyahoga County grand jury next week.
Stacho did not say whether Brown had an attorney to speak for her.
