In downtown Warren:

Charles Thumm operated a bakery on an alley near the present-day Burger King restaurant from 1850 to 1909.

August Thumm and his brother Karl Thumm, sons of Charles Thumm, started the Thumm tire, motorcycle and bicycle shop on West Market Street just across the river from Courthouse Square on May 19, 1909.

August Thumm II, son of August Thumm, takes over the shop in 1940 and runs it until 1991.

August Thumm III, known as Augie, takes over the shop in 1991 and continues to operate it.
