CINCINNATI — Robert Mitchell made both free throws with 6.2 seconds left in overtime, completing Seton Hall’s comeback from an early 14-point deficit to victory over Cincinnati in a matchup of two fading teams.Jeremy Hazell scored 22 points for Seton Hall (15-15, 7-11 Big East), which lost five of its last seven games. The Pirates wasted a chance to win it in regulation before pulling out their first overtime victory in three chances this season. The Pirates went 10-of-12 on free throws in overtime, pulling away as Cincinnati (18-13, 8-10) missed open shots and was forced to foul. After getting into consideration for an NCAA tournament bid, the Bearcats finished the regular season by losing five of six. Deonta Vaughn led Cincinnati with 18 points
Richmond 80, No. 17 Xavier 75
RICHMOND, Va. — Kevin Anderson scored a career-high 29 points to lead Richmond to an upset of No. 17 Xavier. Justin Harper had 20 points for the Spiders (17-14, 9-7 Atlantic 10 Conference), who shot 50.9 percent and were 19-of-23 on the foul line. Jarhon Giddings added 12 points. Derrick Brown had 16 points for Xavier (24-6, 12-4), which cut the lead to 75-73 with 1:21 remaining on Terrell Holloway’s short jumper in the lane to cap a 20-7 run.
Dayton 74, Duquesne 61
DAYTON — Luke Fabrizius scored a career-high 17 points and Dayton set a school record with its 25th regular-season win, beating Duquesne. Chris Wright added 11 points and Charles Little 10 for the Flyers (25-6, 11-5 Atlantic 10). They finished the year 18-0 at the University of Dayton Arena, the first time they had ever accomplished that feat. Aaron Jackson had 16 points and Bill Clark and B.J. Monteiro each had 12 for Duquesne (18-11, 9-7), which watched the Flyers hit 65 percent of their shots in the first half to build a 49-36 lead and never trail again. Dayton clinched a tie for second in the Atlantic 10, but will be the No. 3 seed in next week’s conference tournament.
