6 employees honored at annual ISLE luncheon

YOUNGSTOWN — Iron and String Life Enhancement, Inc., honored six employees of ISLE Inc. and its subsidiaries during its second annual Employee of the Year luncheon Feb. 20 at the social hall of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The employees were recognized for excellence in performance in 2008.
Patty Mangine, an ISLE site supervisor, received the highest honor of Employee of the Year and was awarded a plaque and a monetary gift. She oversees the direct-care staff and works one-on-one with individuals with autism and those with multiple physical and mental disabilities who live in ISLE residential facilities and attend the Purple Cat adult day habilitative program.
Also honored were Sabrina White, ISLE direct-care staff; Gil Pagan, day-program instructor at The Purple Cat; Jessica Beasley, facilitator at The Purple Cat; Julie Adams, ISLE direct-care staff; and Tim Sturgiss, day-program instructor at The Purple Cat.
ISLE is the parent company of Golden String Inc., which helps those with disabilities realize their fullest potential; The Purple Cat, which provides creative day programming for adults with disabilities; and Touch the Moon Candy Saloon, where functional employment is offered to individuals with disabilities, helping them participate in a wide range of vocational job opportunities.
