Commemorative event at Hungarian Club


YOUNGSTOWN — The American-Hungarian Federation has scheduled a commemorative event featuring the 1848 War of Independence for 2:30 p.m. March 22 at the club, 2219 Donald Ave.

Speakers will be William Hegedus of the Akron Hungarian Club, who will speak in the Hungarian language, and Michael Verich, vice chairman of the State Employment Relations Board, who will speak in English. They will give presentations on cultural events and changes taking place in Hungary.

The Youngstown Hungarian Dance Group will perform several numbers, local musicians will play traditional Hungarian melodies, and there will be poems and songs. Refreshments will be served.
