Canfield residents should be concerned about building
Canfield residents should be concerned about building
EDITOR:
Our economy can repair itself now that we have the federal stimulus bill. Not to be outdone, the residents of Canfield Township can look forward to their own stimulus borrowing by the trustees for a proposed excessively expensive township administration building at the top of the hill at the Parklands on Herbert Road.
Naming it as such, instead of Town Hall, deprives the residents of a voice and approval at meetings and at the ballot box. If it were called a Town Hall, trustees would be required by Ohio Revised Code 511 to put their decision to a vote. The trustees have held pseudo public meetings for the record, not input. This would explain the lack of new faces and attendance at the trustee meeting to get the facts and declare their position, pro or con. The trustees are planning on borrowing millions for this dream location instead of consolidating with the township service center/fire station facilities on Messerly Road. Part of the unnecessary expense is the construction of over 1,300 feet of gas, electric, phone, water and sanitary lines along with two-lane paved drive and excessively large parking area, all of which combine to at least $500,000 or more than on Messerly.
I hope the residents of the township will wake up before we are stuck with the cost of this project.
Lastly, the good news is that the long pressed for rent-a-hall has been scratched. It’s been replaced with an equally bizarre idea: a power windmill.
Residents can speak up at the next trustee meeting at the original Town Hall on the square in Canfield at 7 p.m. March 10. Now’s your chance to speak up or suffer in silence.

Show concern for life

President Obama is planning to sign into law the evil Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). This law will force American taxpayers to fund abortions, force all states to allow partial-birth abortions, force doctors, nurses and hospitals to perform abortions, despite their opposition on religions, moral, or ethical grounds (are you listening, St. Joseph Hospital?), and remove a parent’s right to be involved in their minor daughter’s decision to have an abortion. It will influence every state and local law or regulation that has to do with abortion.
Over 40 million souls have been snuffed out from abortion since Roe v. Wade. I heard President Obama say many times, “God bless America.” Does he really think God will bless a country that kills its future? Does he think God will look down on him kindly as he signs this heinous bill into law?
I find it ironic that most African-Americans are Democrats, thus, for abortion, and that the biggest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, was started by Margaret Sanger, who everyone knows was not a friend of the black people. Like Hitler, she wanted to annihilate the whole race.
What if Barack Obama’s mother had aborted him? What if Capt. Sullenberger had not been there to save those 155 lives on the Hudson? We will never know the difference those 40+ million would have made in our lives. God puts each and every one of us on this earth for a reason, a purpose
Please let your representative and senators know you are opposed to this bill-opposed to abortion. Let us show the world — and God — that America is for life.
