Youngstown police charge man with carrying a concealed weapon
YOUNGSTOWN — Police charged a 20-year-old Youngstown man with carrying a concealed weapon.
Randy T. Farmer-Reese of Clearmont Avenue was sent to the Mahoning County jail on the felony charge pending an arraignment in Youngstown Municipal Court.
Police responded to calls around 1:30 p.m. today regarding people in two vehicles — a silver Pontiac Grand Am and a dark-colored minivan — shooting at each other on Glenwood Avenue. While investigating those calls, police found four men, including Farmer-Reese, standing next to a silver Grand Am in front of a home on the 500 block of West Delason Avenue.
Because of the shooting, officers patted down the four and found a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun on Farmer-Reese, according to a police report.
Officers checked the Grand Am and found no evidence that the vehicle was involved in the shooting — the hood was cold and there were no spent shell casing inside the car, police said. The three other men were released.
