North Lima home destroyed by fire
NORTH LIMA — Fire destroyed a Laird Drive home early Wednesday. The cause hasn’t been determined, and the state fire marshal’s office is investigating.
Beaver firefighters were called around 2 a.m. to 457 Laird in the Woodworth area and found the house fully engulfed.
No one was home, but because there were two cars in the driveway, firefighters didn’t realize the house was unoccupied until one of the occupants came home, said fire Chief Russ Osborne.
A firefighter who slipped on the ice was treated at the hospital for an arm injury. The chief said the injury is minor, but the firefighter is expected to be off work for a couple of weeks.
Firefighters from New Springfield assisted.
