Donations sought
WARREN — The St. Vincent de Paul Society has seen an increase in those wishing to help others. Unfortunately, there has also been an increase in those who need help. Now the organization is looking to increase funding.
The Feinstein Foundation, a national organization founded by philanthropist Alan Shawn Feinstein, is dedicated to the elimination of hunger in the United States. The foundation is urging people to make donations to organizations with the same goals, such as the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Donations made from now until April 30 will be collected, and the number will be reported to the Feinstein Foundation, said Marlene Battaglia, treasurer of the Trumbull Deanery. Battaglia said the foundation donates $1 million annually to multiple organizations, including the Trumbull Deanery.
Donations can be sent to the St. Vincent de Paul Trumbull Deanery at P.O. Box 1822, Warren, OH 44482.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society has two Warren locations: The Service Center, 2415 Niles Road S.E., can be contacted at (330) 369-4198. The St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall is at 2355 Niles Road.
