Car smashes van parked in WRTA lot downtown


YOUNGSTOWN — A woman lost control of her Mercury Grand Marquis driving over the Spring Commons Bridge, hitting a concrete embankment at the Western Reserve Transit Authority bus station downtown.

After the car hit the embankment, it crashed into a Dodge Durango parked in the WRTA’s security lot at the corner of West Federal Street and Fifth Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The unidentified woman was treated at the scene for unspecified injuries.

Her car was totaled and caused considerable damage to the parked SUV.
