POLAND

Feb. 25

Aggravated menacing: A Van Drive woman filed a complaint against a family member.

Theft: A Lowellville woman, 64, was accused of stealing numerous grocery items from Giant Eagle, 3130 Center Road.

Feb. 26

Burglary: At a home in the 2500 block of Manor Avenue. Stolen were $1,400 and a passbook.

Bad check: Officers charged a 35-year-old Poland woman with passing a bad check at Poland Veterinarian Centre, 6609 Clingan Road.

Feb. 28

Criminal damaging: A New Castle Road man reported 300 feet of lawn damage.

Feb. 25

Theft: A girl, 17, and a man, 19, both of Youngstown, were accused of deliberately failing to scan $68 worth of merchandise at Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Arrest: Youngstown police handed a 35-year-old city man to Boardman authorities. He was wanted on two felony warrants related to a January incident at a Doral Drive store.

Vandalism: The owner of Market Street business arrived to discover a 15-foot section of roof missing or damaged, and that water had leaked into the building.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was removed from her purse at a Westview Drive church.

Possible theft: The front license plate was lost or stolen from a vehicle on West Boulevard.

Theft: A 65-year-old Youngstown woman faced a felony charge, accused of stealing $513.58 worth of crafts supplies from Wal-Mart.

Theft: A student at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., discovered an MP3 player, a cell phone and his wallet missing from his gym locker.

Feb. 26

Domestic violence: A 64-year-old Boardman woman was charged after a family member alleged her stepmother scratched, pushed and choked her during an argument about the accuser’s moving from the residence.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 31, was charged in the theft of a cordless phone and tool parts from Wal-Mart.

Recovered property: In the 4000 block of Cascade Drive a 2002 Honda Accord that had been stolen from a Youngstown woman.

Harassment: A West Boulevard woman said her former boyfriend made at least 100 harassing or threatening calls to her residence.

Menacing: A Gertrude Avenue woman told officers a man deliberately swerved in front of her as she drove, frequently drove by her home and made unwanted calls as part of a pattern of harassment.

Theft of services: A worker at a Market Street doctor’s office reported a patient had paid for a procedure with a credit card, but that the payment was revoked after the card holder said the charge was unauthorized.

Arrest: A Boardman man, 18, was arrested at the Southern Park Mall on a criminal-trespassing charge after a security agent told officers the teen was on the property, despite having been warned by police to stay off.

Feb. 27

Criminal damaging: A motorist driving on Woodrow Avenue told police someone used a BB or pellet gun to shoot at and shatter a passenger-side window on his vehicle, causing glass to fall on the car’s occupants. No one was injured.

Arrest: A Struthers woman, 24, was picked up at a Shadyside Drive residence on warrants charging her with criminal damaging and menacing. In January, a Boardman-Canfield Road woman reported being threatened with bodily harm, and that her vehicle was kicked, resulting in a large dent.

Drug paraphernalia: A 24-year-old Boardman man was arrested in the 8500 block of Glenwood Avenue on a warrant charging him.

Theft: A 19-year-old Youngstown man was accused in the theft of $67 worth of cologne from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Forgery: A 26-year-old Struthers woman faced felony charges of forgery and receiving stolen property when, police said, she admitted stealing, endorsing and cashing for $1,200 a personal check belonging to her grandmother.

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to pry open a door to Taco Bell, 940 Boardman-Poland Drive, though no entry was made.

Forgery: An employee with a U.S. Route 224 doctor’s office reported receiving a fax regarding a possibly forged medical document and confirming it had been forged.

Vandalism: Someone likely used a BB gun to shoot a sign several times, as well as a front window, at Eye Catchers Optical, 8004 South Ave. Total damage was estimated at $900.

Feb. 28

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 38, was arrested on a probation-violation charge after being pulled over near South Avenue.

Menacing: A Cook Avenue woman reported getting threatening calls.

Menacing: A Lynn Mar Avenue woman told police her 12-year-old daughter received threatening and harassing calls.

March 1

Fraud: A Youngstown woman discovered someone had opened an account with a finance company in her name.

Arrest: A 27-year-old Youngstown man was taken into custody during a traffic stop near Glenwood Avenue after police learned he was wanted on felony charges of receiving stolen property and failing to register as a sexual offender. He also was charged with obstructing official business, accused of providing false personal information, and was wanted on a misdemeanor probation-violation count.

Criminal damaging: A Lealand Avenue man found damage to windows on two vehicles, resulting in an estimate $300 damage.

Theft: A North Lima man reported the theft of his wallet, $20 and a bank card while at a Boardman-Poland Road store.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s driver’s-side rear window was broken in the 7700 block of Ranier Trail.

Drugs: A vehicle check near Indianola Road resulted in a 20-year-old Boardman man’s arrest on a warrant charging him with possession of drugs. He also was charged with possession of marijuana.
