E. Liverpool advances with 53-42 victory

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Da’Neil Prentice scored 18 points and East Liverpool used a big third-quarter to pull away from Indian Creek, 53-42, in a Division II boys basketball sectional championship game.

The Potters (10-11) will play Saturday night in a district semifinal at Ohio University’s Belmont campus against Cambridge.

Marky Thompkins added 11 points for East Liverpool, which trailed 21-17 at halftime but outscored Indian Creek 19-9 in the third period.
