SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO: Dorothy Daley from Falls Avenue in Youngstown landed a job as a hostess at the NBC broadcasting studio in Radio City, New York. She was pictured in the March 4, 1934, Rotogravure talking with Jimmy Wallington, who was already a famous announcer for his work as the master of ceremonies for short wave broadcasts to Admiral Richard E. Byrd on his first trip to the South Pole and as the announcer for the Eddie Cantor radio show. He later played straight man to Jack Benny, Maurice Chevalier and George Jessel during the golden age of radio.
