Struthers home leveled by fire
staff report
STRUTHERS — A house fire left a family home in ruin Friday.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 170 N. Bridge St. at around 10:15 p.m.
No one was home at the time of the blaze, which burned the house to the ground. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene, heavy flames were soaring out of all the windows, officials said.
The blaze appeared to start on the first floor and spread quickly to the second floor and attic. Once the fire was inside the walls, firefighters determined it was too dangerous to fight, officials said.
The cause has not been determined, and the estimated loss is about $32,000.
Campbell firefighters were also busy early Saturday, responding to a vacant house fire at 38 6th St. around 1:30 a.m.
The fire was suspicious, officials said. The estimated loss was about $30,000. No one was injured.
