YOUNGSTOWN — Ten loan originators were inducted into the Home Savings Mortgage Elite Group, honoring them for their exceptional level of mortgage loan production in 2008. Inductees were Donna Atwood, Alan Brucato, Chuck Gole, Jennifer Hanigosky, Scott Jones, Kathy Kennedy, Jeff Kolenic, Jim Nelson, Juan Santiago and Norm Wise.

CANFIELD — DOT Construction Corp. won a Move Ohio Award from the Ohio Contractors Association. The Canfield company won in the category for projects valued at between $500,000 and $2 million for its work on renovating the silver suspension bridge in Mill Creek Park.

NILES — Verizon Wireless has named Nicholas Scutillo of Hubbard to its President’s Cabinet. Scutillo is a retail sales manager at the Verizon Wireless Communications Store at 5700 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. He was ranked in the top 1 percent of sales in 2008.

INDIANAPOLIS — J.P. Morgan announced that Joseph Olexa Jr., an Indianapolis investment adviser and native of Youngstown, was ranked in Barron’s as one of Indiana’s top 15 financial advisers. The list appeared in the Feb. 9 cover story “Top 1,000 Financial Advisers” ranking America’s top advisors in all 50 states. Olexa achieved a bachelor’s degree in management and finance from Youngstown State University.

BOARDMAN — CompOne has acquired a three-year accreditation with the Utilitzation Review Accreditation Commission for case management. The review ensures that business operations are meeting national quality standards. CompOne is a managed care organization for employers and injured workers.

LORDSTOWN — Robert Edmiston of Volant, Pa., a professional driver based out of Con-way Freight’s Lordstown service center, recently achieved one million miles of safe driving. He safely drove the one million miles between 1999 and 2009 and reached the one-million-mile mark Jan. 31.

LIBERTY — The School of Progressive Music, 3175 Belmont Ave., Suite B, has been certified in Creative Chord Style by Scott Houston, “The Piano Guy”, as seen on PBS. The method is designed to increase health and relieve stress through recreational music-making.
