Crosscutters score four in second to romp, 6-1

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A four-run second inning propelled the Williamsport Crosscutters to Saturday’s 6-1 victory over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in New York-Penn League action.

The Scrappers jumped ahead, 1-0, in the top of the second after Gregory Folgia doubled and scored on Jordan Henry’s two-out single.

The Crosscutters rallied in their next at-bat. After Adam Buschini struck out but took first on a dropped strike three, he stole second. Francisco Murillo and Stephen Batts walked to load the bases.

T.J. Henry’s single brought home Buschini. The other runs came on an error and Jiwan James’ base hit.

Leandro Castro tripled then scored in the fourth inning for a 5-1 lead.

Preston Guilmet (0-1) took the loss, allowing three earned runs in the four innings he pitched.

The Scrappers will be in State College, Pa., today to open a three-game series against the Spikes.
