A family dinner honors Rendas on anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Carmen J. Renda Sr.
AUSTINTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Carmen J. Renda Sr. of Austintown received congratulations as they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary during a family dinner on June 21 at the Red Lobster in Boardman.
Hosts for the event were the couple’s sons and spouses, and their grandchildren: Jim and Polly Renda of Toledo, John and Patty Renda and their daughters, Jill, Michelle and Hallie, all of Austintown; Lee Renda and Heather Jardin of Youngstown; and daughter-in-law Janice Renda of Youngstown. Two sons, Carmen Jr. (known as Skip) and Donald Renda, and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Renda, are deceased.
The former Jacqueline Milligan and Mr. Renda were united in marriage on May 28, 1949, at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Renda served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired in 1997 as a general technical manager with Weber Sensors in North Lima. He worked 18 years as a senior electrical designer with Automatic Sprinkler Corp. and holds several patents. Mrs. Renda is a homemaker.
The couple have 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
