Child burned in Mexico fire dies in Ohio hospital

CINCINNATI (AP) — Officials at an Ohio hospital say a 3-year-old girl being treated for injuries received in a Mexico day-care fire has died.

Officials at Cincinnati’s Shriners Hospital for Children say the 3-year-old girl died Friday afternoon.

Hospital spokeswoman Louise Hoelker said the girl was transferred to the hospital Thursday night from Mexico.

The June 5 fire in a day-care center in Hermosillo killed 47 children.

Two other 3-year-old girls injured in the fire remain at the pediatric burn hospital. One admitted Friday is in serious condition.
