WARREN — The Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation named 22 students the recipients of three scholarships awarded for a total of $12,000.

The Lydia Parti Hamilton Nursing Scholarship was established in 1999 by Mrs. Hamilton’s sons to honor her 90th birthday. Lydia Parti was one of nine students to graduate in 1930 from the Warren City Hospital (later renamed Trumbull Memorial Hospital) School of Nursing.

Upon graduation, Parti devoted 45 years to a career in private duty nursing and raising her family.

The scholarships are awarded to Trumbull County high school seniors who wish to pursue degrees in nursing.

To make a contribution to the Lydia Parti Hamilton Nursing Scholarship Fund, contact the TMH Foundation at (330) 841-1900.

The Robert L. Stauter M.D. Memorial Scholarship was established by his colleagues and friends to honor him, his work and ideals. Dr. Stauter, an emergency room physician, attorney and pilot, was a strong supporter of education. The scholarship also serves as a legacy to Dr. Stauter, who died in the crash of Swissair Flight 111.

He was the son of Roy and Jean Stauter of Fonda, Iowa, and a beloved member of the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Medical Staff. To make a contribution to the Robert L. Stauter M.D. Memorial Scholarship Fund, contact the TMH Foundation at the above number.

The Stephen R. Reese family established the Stephen R. Reese Junior Volunteer Service Award Scholarship to recognize outstanding service that Mr. Reese provided to Trumbull Memorial Hospital, the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation, and the greater community.

This year’s recipient is Jessica Prokup of Warren, a graduate of Howland High School.

The scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating TMH Junior Volunteer. To make a contribution to the Stephen R. Reese Junior Volunteer Service Award Scholarship Fund, call the TMH Foundation at the above number.
