Report: Woman hurt in Kings Island coaster incident was in ICU

CINCINNATI (AP) — An investigators’ report shows a woman who complained she hurt her head on an Ohio roller coaster was hospitalized for a burst blood vessel in her brain.

The Son of Beast coaster at Kings Island near here is closed amid an investigation by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, which inspects amusement park rides.

An incident report from the agency’s Amusement Ride Safety Division says the 39-year-old woman was admitted to a hospital’s intensive care unit. For now, the department is not releasing her name, current medical condition or the name of the hospital.

The woman visited Kings Island on May 31 but did not report the injury until June 16.

The Son of Beast was shut down for nearly a year after 27 were hospitalized from a July 2006 accident.
