GRANTED: The P.E.O. Sisterhood, through Chapter EE, Warren, has awarded Maria Elia a $2,000 Program for Continuing Education Grant.

Elia, a Youngstown State University graduate, is attending Cuyahoga Community College and pursuing an associate degree in nursing.

The P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education was established in 1973 to provide need-based grants to women in the United States and Canada who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. More than $30 million in small grants has been awarded to more than 30,000 women. Applicants are recommended and sponsored by P.E.O. chapters.
