Marlins club Knights, 10-3, in Warren AA

Caullan Owens homered, Marques Shannon tripled and Joe Vaught went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Champion Marlins past Knights 10-3 in Warren AA baseball action.

The Marlins are 8-6. The Knights are 6-6.

Trumbull Merchants 12, Cleats Club Seat Grille 2

Adam Morgan hit a three-run homer and Dave Nypaver also homered for Trumbull. Pat Stantial doubled twice for the Merchants (12-1), who are in first place by four games. Cleats Club is 4-10.

Tri-State Collegiate League Youngstown Metros 11-7, Allegheny 10-8

Cory Johnson homered and Brian Szabo had two hits in the first game for Metros, which rallied with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Brian Lattanzi went 4-for-5 for Allegheny with three runs scored.

In the second game, Pat Trettel homered, doubled and singled and scored two runs for Allegheny, which rallied from a 4-0 deficit.

Joe Iacobucci had two doubles and scored two runs for Metros, while Matt Durkin had two singles.
