READY TO SERVE: Mahoning Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met June 8 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield, where members and guests were welcomed by Regent Sarah Reynolds.

An informative program on the American flag was presented by JoAnn Cook, who gave nine American flags to new citizens at Mahoning County Courthouse on June 4. She noted that Francis Scott Key wrote “The Star Spangled Banner,” George M. Cohan wrote “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” and Francis Bellamy wrote the pledge to the flag that was recognized in 1942 by Congress.

Installed by Ileene Rozich were the following officers: from left, seated, Sarah Reynolds, director; Rosa Dalbec, regent; and Joanne Collier and Rozich, directors; and standing, Mary Altiere, vice regent; Margie Diver, recording secretary; Dolores Ronzi, chaplain; Nancy Lewis, registrar; Kim Bland, treasurer; and Bonnie Casto, historian.
