Area garden cubs honor veterans

DEDICATED: Members of area garden clubs dedicated a Blue Star memorial marker on May 29 at the Youngstown Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic, 2031 Belmont Ave., in honor of members of the military service. Many area veterans attended the ceremony.

Among those participating in the event are, from left, Robert Branick, Northeast Ohio volunteer liaison; Mark Bell, VA administrator; Betty Cookendorfer, president of the Garden Club of Ohio; Sheila Bowman, president of the Youngstown District of Garden Club of Ohio; Diana Mullins, past president of the Garden Club of Ohio; Virginia Clark, chairman of the Blue Star Memorial Highway Program; Rose Marie Roth, president of the Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown; and Millie Campean, treasurer of the Garden Forum.
