Small Ships Revue scheduled for Friday

SHARON, Pa. — The 29th annual Small Ships Revue in the downtown area is Friday. The parade will begin about 6 p.m. followed immediately by the float exhibition down the Shenango River.

The revue is a build-your-own-boat regatta. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place as well as in other special categories.

From 6 to 7 p.m., these roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic: State Street from Railroad Avenue to the State Street bridge; Shenango Avenue from State to Silver streets; Pitt Street from Shenango to Railroad avenues; Silver from Railroad to Penn avenues; and Penn from Silver to Rose Court.

The roads will be reopened after the parade and boat launch.

Roads closed from 7 to 11 p.m. for the revue will be West Connelly Boulevard from Railroad to Water avenues, and Chestnut Street from East Connelly Boulevard to the entrance of the Chestnut Street public parking lot.

Those roads will be reopened immediately after the fireworks display.
