FESTIVALS
• Leetonia Artisans Festival is accepting applications for food and craft vendors to set up for the one-day show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20 at Leetonia Wick Park. The cost is $30 for a 15-by-15-foot spot with electricity available. Only handcrafted items are acceptable; send photos. Send all contract requests to Leetonia Artisans Festival, 300 E. FUNDRAISERS
• The Youth Group of First Covenant Church at the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Shields Road, Boardman, will sponsor a takeout chicken dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday. Meals will include stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. Tickets are $6. For more information, call (330) 758-9753.
SALES
• Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
• The Youth Ministry of St. Jude Parish is sponsoring a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the activity center, 189 Seventh St., Columbiana. All items have been donated by parish members and are reasonably priced. There will also be a bake sale both days. Proceeds will be used for the Youth Ministry to attend the National Catholic Youth Convention in November.
SPECIAL EVENTS
• The 6th annual Relay for Life Poker Run is scheduled for July 12 at the Power House Bar & Grill, 999 Mahoning Ave., Warren. Sign-ups begin at 11 a.m. Bikes will leave at noon and return by 5 p.m. The event will go on rain or shine. The cost is $10 per person, which includes a meal. There will be a Chinese auction, 50-50 raffle, door prizes and a bike contest. Pre-registration is July 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Power House.
• United Quilt Guild will sponsor a quilt show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Sebring McKinley High School, 225 E. Indiana Ave., Sebring. On Friday, the featured speaker will be Sue Nickels, internationally known quilter and teacher. There will be demonstrations and refreshments. Admission is $5, and 20 percent of the profits will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Columbiana County. For more information, contact Miriam Good, (330) 547-3305.
TRIPS
•The Sutliff museum will offer a one-day bus tour to four William McKinley sites in Canton on July 23. The First Ladies Gowns Exhibit will be a highlight of the tour for many travelers, but seeing the elegant Victorian home where McKinley and his wife lived during his term in Congress will be as intriguing for others. The McKinley Museum with its "Street of Shops" will be a highlight of the museum tour, and the monument and tomb of this Ohio president will provide a solemn reminder of the man, who was born in Niles. The cost is $42 per person and includes transportation, driver's tip, admissions, tour guides, snacks and bottled water on the bus. Lunch will be on your own at Bender’s Restaurant. Boarding will be in the parking lot of the new Wal-Mart on Elm Road in Warren at 8 a.m. July 23 and will depart at 8:30.
