Dave Sugar and Astro Falcons post victories in Class B action


STRUTHERS — Nick Crum tossed a four-hit complete game as Dave Sugar Excavating defeated Roth Brothers, 5-1, on Sunday in Class B action at Cene Park.

Crum (1-1) had two strikeouts and allowed no earned runs. Jordan Izzo and Chris Kirkwood had run scoring singles for Dave Sugar (10-11).

Bubba Uhlman had a double and a single for Roth Brothers (8-13).

Astro Falcons 9, Wharmby Sports 6

STRUTHERS — The Astro Falcons moved into a tie with Wharmby Sports for third place overall.

Jared Turocy tossed five innings for the win, his third in four decisions. He allowed no earned runs and had three strikeouts.

Bryan Visingardi, Mike Natale and Shane Wagner had two hits each for Astro (15-6) with Wagner driving home four runs.

Dom DeFelice had three hits to lead Wharmby (15-6). Whamby committed six errors that led to six unearned runs.

1080 Media 7, Action Physical Therapy 1

STRUTHERS — Nick Timko tossed a three-hit complete game for 1080 Media (17-4).

Joe Aulizia, Mitch Elliot, and Anthony Raschilla had two hits each while Timko improved to 4-1 on the mound.

Jarrod Seech (0-4) went the distance for Action (3-18), striking out three.

Rondinelli Tuxedo 10, OTN Performance 0

STRUTHERS — Rondinelli (17-4) clinched the Goldstone Division.

Adam Shrodak had three hits while Jason Bagoly added a single and a double and three runs batted in. Doug Simoncic had eight strikeouts in throwing a three-hit shutout. Gary Revale, Mike Tomko and Will Frazier had hits for OTN (11-10).

Youngstown Express 8, Livi Steel 4

STRUTHERS — Youngstown Express (5-16) built a 8-0 lead and held off a late rally by Livi Steel (4-17).

Jon DeAmicis (3-4) went six plus innings for the win, allowing only one earned run on two hits.

Chris Consentino had three hits and Anthony O’Nesti a single and a double for the winners.

Zach McGhee had two hits for Livi Steel (4-17).

Class AA

YOUNGSTOWN — Mike Hoelzel had two hits and scored twice to lead Youngstown Metros to a 7-0 victory over Tri-County. Eric Pirtz singled and scored two runs while Matt Pitzulo had two hits.
