PALO Creative forms partnership with DRS

LEETONIA — PALO Creative, an advertising agency that had been based in Boardman, has formed a partnership with DRS and recently moved to DRS’ location in the World Trade Park in Leetonia.

Rob Palowitz, PALO president, said the move will allow the company to take advantage of a new building, fiber optics, technology support and a market with growing rural areas. Mike Meloy, DRS president, said working with PALO will allow it to include marketing and interactive Web products in monthly contracts. DRS, which also has sites in Youngstown, Akron and Pittsburgh, provides managed services, data-center operations and help-desk services.

Nominations sought for Pendleton Pride Award

WARREN — The Warren Area Council of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is accepting nominations for its 2009 Pendleton Business Pride Award. The award honors businesses within the city of Warren that exemplify superior ethical, moral and professional standards in their workplace while supporting the city’s economic and community development.

Nominations for the award may be submitted through July 31. Forms are available in the member resources area of www.regionalchamber.com. The recipient will be honored at the Good Morning, Warren event Oct. 2.

ABC Supply redesigns office to help customers

YOUNGSTOWN — ABC Supply Co. has redesigned its office at 399 S. Meridian Road. The company is a supplier of roofing, siding, windows and other exterior building products for area contractors. The new design is meant to make it easier for customers to understand features and benefits of products and make comparisons among product lines.

It also incorporates a storage system that organizes product sample boards so contractors can more easily find the samples they need to assist their customers. ABC is based in Wisconsin and has 370 offices.

Apartment community opens in Howland

HOWLAND — The Manor at Howland Glen has opened at 3880 N. River Road. The apartment community, which is designed for people age 62 and older, is owned by Lutheran Housing Services of Howland, a partnership of Shepherd of the Valley, Lutheran Social Services of Northern Ohio and St. Luke Lutheran Community.

It offers 49 one-bedroom apartments, a community room, library, arts and crafts studio, lounges and a key-entry system for added security. The apartments include a refrigerator, stove, carpeting, air-conditioning and an emergency call system. Rent is determined at 30 percent of adjusted income. Rent subsidies are available to qualifying residents.

New animal hospital opens in West Middlesex

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. — Dr. Nicole Pearsall, a local native, has opened Penn-Ohio Veterinary Services, an animal hospital at 5 Jimro Road. An open house will be from noon to 6 p.m. July 11 and noon to 4 p.m. July 12. Included will be tours, live animal displays, free food and children’s activities. Dr. Pearsall returned to the area after completing her veterinarian degree from Purdue University.
