local topics on TV Sunday program


“Community Connection” (6:30 a.m., WFMJ-TV 21): June is Elder Awareness Month, and the Mahoning Valley Task Force on Crime and Violence Prevention in conjunction with the Area Agency on Aging District 11 will have a Senior Citizen’s Summit on Tuesday. Terri Bryant and Lisa Solley will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the summit and issues regarding the senior citizens in our valley.

Next, Keith Kaiser of Millcreek MetroParks will discuss the upcoming exhibit “Grassroots: African Origins of American Art,” with basket displays from the National Endowment for the Humanities appearing at the Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Mike Forney of Hot Topix, Ohio’s largest book club, will discuss the groups’ next event, and Colleen Murphy of the Geauga Lake Wild Water Kingdom will share family fun with the new park, right in our own backyard.
