F.N.B. promotes Calabrese to chief financial officer

HERMITAGE, Pa. — F.N.B. Corp. said it has promoted Vincent Calabrese to chief financial officer. He joined the parent of First National Bank of Pennsylvania in March 2007 as senior vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer.

Calabrese will be responsible for developing and administering the company’s corporate financial strategies in addition to oversight of accounting management and other financial segments. Before joining F.N.B., Calabrese was senior vice president and controller at People’s Bank in Bridgeport, Conn., and a supervising senior auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick in Stamford, Conn.

Mortgage rates fall

WASHINGTON — Rates for 30-year home loans fell back this week after soaring to the highest level in seven months a week earlier.

The average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage was 5.38 percent this week, down from 5.59 percent a week earlier, mortgage company Freddie Mac said.

The average rate on a 15-year fixed-rate mortgage fell to 4.89 percent, down from 5.06 percent last week, according to Freddie Mac.
