Rape suspect arrested in Boardman

BOARDMAN — A Pennsylvania man was arrested by local law enforcement on allegations of sexual assault.

Michael Tackett, 38, of West Pittsburgh, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. They were assisted by the Western District of the U.S. Marshal Service, Pennsylvania State Police, Youngstown and Boardman Police departments and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation. Tackett is being held in the Mahoning County jail, awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.

According to a news release, Tackett was arrested in the 7000 block of Market Street in Boardman near the Wagon Wheel Motel. He was taken into custody without incident, the release said.

Tackett is being charged with counts of rape by forcible compulsion, rape by threat of forcible compulsion, indecent sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion, indecent sexual intercourse by threat of forcible compulsion, intimidation of a victim/witness, aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault by forcible compulsion, aggravated indecent assault by threat of forcible compulsion, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, unlawful restraint involving serious bodily injury, possession of a weapon, and sexual assault, the release said.
