Ohio man killed in northwestern Pa. drilling accident

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Federal and state officials are investigating the workplace death of an Ohio man who’s skull was crushed in a well-drilling accident in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Crawford County Coroner Patrick McHenry says 37-year-old Kenneth Geog, of Brinkhaven, Ohio, was killed in the accident just before 8 a.m. Thursday in Cussewago Township.

Geog was part of a crew drilling exploratory holes for oil and gas wells for R&B Enterprise, of Millersburg, Ohio. The coroner says Geog was killed when his head got caught between a control box and a drilling rig.

The company has not commented on the accident.

The state police and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
