Niles Council 130 dedicates Liberty Masonic Complex

NEW home: Among those involved in a ceremony at which a new complex was dedicated to Masonic purposes by Niles Council 130 were, from left, Fred A. Boggs, Grand Master of Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, and James C. Cunningham of Austintown, illustrious master of Niles Council 130.

GIRARD — Niles Council 130 Royal and Select Masons moved from downtown Niles to a new home at 1350 Shannon Road in January, and the new Liberty Masonic Complex was consecrated to Masonic purposes during a dedication ceremony that took place June 7.

Fred A. Boggs, Grand Master of Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, was one of many Masonic dignitaries from around the state who attended the dedication ceremony.

Formed on Sept. 29, 1925, Niles Council 130 has been the home council to two past grand masters of Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, Herbert J. Martin in 1959 and Robert C. Stevens in 1981. Robert K. Rhinehart of Austintown is serving as grand sentinel with the Grand Lodge of Royal and Select Masons of Ohio.

Council 130 officers for the 2009-2010 term are: James C. Cunningham, illustrious master; Donald R. Mackey, deputy master; Ted Theodore, principal conductor of the work; Randal E. Davis, treasurer; Raymond Bishop, recorder; David A. Rich, captain of the guard; Andrew Konsol Jr., conductor of council; Fred Smith Jr., steward; Michael Hover, marshal; Fred Kubli Jr., sentinel; and Brent Whetstone, chaplain.
