Ohio high court to hear former police captain case

COLUMBUS (AP) — The Ohio Supreme Court has agreed to review the case of a former Akron police captain who wants to use DNA testing to overturn his conviction for the 1997 killing of his ex-wife.

The Ohio Innocence Project at the University of Cincinnati is helping 63-year-old Douglas Prade make his renewed defense.

The state’s high court today agreed to hear Prade’s case, although two justices dissented.

Prade thinks evidence points to someone else in the death of Margo Prade, a doctor who was shot in her car outside of her medical office.

Prade is serving 20 years to life in prison.
