Susan Boyle back on tour after taking a break

LONDON — Internet singing sensation Susan Boyle was to rejoin the “Britain’s Got Talent” live tour Monday, her spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said the 48-year-old Scottish singer took a break Sunday, but was scheduled to perform in Glasgow Monday night.

“She had one rest day, but she will be back onstage [Monday night],” she said, adding that she expected Boyle to take part in the rest of the tour, which runs until early July. The spokeswoman spoke anonymously in line with company policy.

Boyle, whose first appearance on the TV talent show generated millions of YouTube hits and compliments from around the world, had been hospitalized a few weeks ago for exhaustion after finishing second in the competition.

The church volunteer was due onstage for a matinee and evening show at the Manchester Evening News Arena on Sunday but did not perform.

She received standing ovations at the tour’s previous shows in Birmingham and Sheffield.

High-profile lawyer representing Usher’s wife

ATLANTA — A lawyer who’s opposed rapper T.I. and boxer Evander Holyfield in child-support cases is representing R&B singer Usher’s wife in their split.

Usher filed for divorce Friday from Tameka Foster Raymond after less than two years of marriage. The singer, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, has two sons with Foster Raymond.

Sports and entertainment family lawyer Randy Kessler said Monday his 38-year-old client was a “faithful wife and loving mother.” He declined to comment on the singer’s conduct during the marriage.

The singer wed his former stylist in a glitzy ceremony in August 2007.

Kessler also represented rapper Mack 10 in his divorce from R&B singer T-Boz of TLC.
