CANFIELD

June 6

Drug abuse: Police arrested a 19-year-old New Springfield man at East Main Street on charges of drug abuse, drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon. Police found 2 grams of suspected marijuana, a multicolored glass pipe containing suspected marijuana residue and a set of gold brass knuckles.

Drug abuse: Police arrested a 24-year-old Salem man at East Main Street and the BP gas station for possession of a single white oval pill, a generic Vicodin.

June 8

Stolen: A spokesman for M&M Auto Sales, 470 W. Main St., reported a rear garage had been broken into and a motorcycle was missing.

Drug abuse: Police charged a 29-year-old Niles man at Newton Square Drive with drug abuse and drug paraphernalia after finding a smoke bong with suspected marijuana residue, suspected marijuana, a pack of rolling papers and a 6-inch, single-blade knife. A passenger, a 24-year-old Niles man, was charged with drug paraphernalia for possession of a bong.

Fraud: A resident of the 100 block of Topaz Circle reported five unauthorized charges on one of her credit cards.

Telephone harassment: Harassing phone calls were reported at an apartment in the 300 block of Carriage Lane.

June 8

Criminal damaging: A sliding glass door was broken at a home in the 1000 block of Woodledge Drive.

Assault: A woman reported a man came to her apartment choked her, pushed her around, and then threw her cell phone at her after she told him she didn’t want to be involved with him.

Telephone harassment: A man reported telephone harassment at his home in the 4000 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Fraud: Unauthorized withdrawals were made from the victim’s bank account totaling $103.95 at a home in the 100 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: A man’s wallet was stolen at Salsita’s, 5495 Clarkins Drive.

Theft: A total of $22.01 in fuel was stolen at the BP gas station, 5502 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Damage to a residence was reported in the 4000 block of Stark Drive, including a downspout pulled off the residence, glass block thrown at the central air-conditioning compressor, damaging the coils, and railing pulled from the patio.

June 9

Theft: A briefcase and tools were stolen from an auto at the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal damaging: A house was shot with a .22-caliber firearm in the 100 block of Wilcox Road.

Theft: A tire and wheel were stolen from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: A man is a suspect in a theft at a home in the 1000 block of Cedarwood Drive.

Fraud: Unauthorized withdrawals were made from a checking account at a home in the 1000 block of DeHoff Drive.

Criminal damaging: A car door was scratched at Denny’s Restaurant, 4927 Mahoning Ave.

June 10

Theft: A 40-channel Cobra citizens-band radio was stolen from an auto in the 400 block of North Canfield-Niles Road.

Lost or stolen property: A man reported a wallet missing at Family Dollar, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: A man is accused of menacing at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West apartments.

Theft: A woman was released on a summons for theft at AT&T, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted phone calls and text messages were reported at a home in the 6000 block of Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A camper window was damaged at a home in the 4000 block of South Raccoon Road.

June 11

Assault: A 17-year-old female was assaulted at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Festival, 4470 Norquest Boulevard, by a male and a female, who pushed her, grabbed her hair, punched her in the face and pushed her to the ground.

Fraud: An unauthorized withdrawal of $100 was discovered to have been taken from a checking account, and the victim later found numerous other withdrawals made since 2007. The victim lives in a home in the 5000 block of Western Place.

Theft: Two bicycles were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Idaho Road.

Theft: Jewelry was missing from a home in the 1000 block of Idaho Road.

Burglary: Money and jewelry were missing from an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Menacing: A female is a suspect in menacing at an apartment in the 300 block of Lynhaven Road.

Burglary: A man is a suspect in a burglary at a home in the 700 block of Regal Drive. Jewelry was taken.

June 12

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s brake line was taken apart at a home in the 4000 block of Stark Drive.

Fraud: Unauthorized credit charges were reported at a home in the 1000 block of Woodleigh Court.

Theft: A 2005 tractor-trailer was stolen from Super 8 Motel, 5280 Seventy-Six Drive.

Fraud: A victim reported her Visa check card was compromised by her granddaughter at a home in the 2000 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle windshield and the side of the vehicle were damaged by someone throwing rocks in the 5000 block of New Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged by rocks being thrown in the 5000 block of New Road.

Telephone harassment: A man is a suspect in making harassing phone calls at a home in the 6000 block of Abbott Road.

June 13

Felonious assault: A man and a woman were struck by a vehicle driven by a man at Elmwood Avenue and Forest Hill Drive.

Drug offense: Three Austintown men were issued summonses at Chipper’s Lounge, 5 N. Edgehill Ave., for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. One man also was also charged with possession of Hydrocodone and Vicodin, prescription pain relievers.

Loss dog: A woman was issued a summons for a loose dog at a home in the 1000 block of North Roanoke Avenue.

Recovered property: A Blackberry cell phone taken from an auto was recovered in the 1800 block of South Meridian Road.

Drug offense: Police charged two men, one from Canfield and one from Austintown, with possession of marijuana in the parking lot of the Austintown Plaza, 6000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

June 14

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to an Austintown man for possession of marijuana at Sheetz Gas Station, 5499 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: A man pointed a gun at two other men at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Doorknobs and a window were damaged at a home in the 200 block of Marcia Drive.

Drug offense: Two male juveniles, one from Austintown and one from Youngstown, were caught smoking suspected marijuana in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue. They were taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center, Youngstown.

Theft: About 145 Hydrocodone pills were taken from an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Burglary: Two handguns, a laptop and change were taken from a home in the 4000 block of Woodmere Drive.

Telecommunications harassment: Disturbing telephone calls were received at a home in the 2000 block of Oak Trace Drive.

Auto theft: A 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora was taken at apartments in the 900 block of Compass West apartments.

Criminal damaging: Windows were broken out of a vehicle at Westgate Boulevard and Woodmere Drive.

Theft: A CB radio was stolen from a tractor-trailer parked at Polaris, 500 Victoria Road.
