Astro Falcons down Roth, 7-2


STRUTHERS — Jared Turocy tossed six innings and added two hits as Astro Falcons defeated Roth Brothers, 7-2, in a Class B League game at Cene Park on Saturday.

Turocy (2-1) struck out three. Ryan Rovnak had three hits and Bryan Visingardi and Kyle Allen two each for Astro (10-5). Jonathan Rhoads pitched a complete game for Roth (8-7). Nick Reinthaler and A.J. Zorella had two hits each.

OTN Performance 7, Action Physical Therapy 4

Gary Revale had three hits and drove home four runs while Joe Sekula had a pair of singles for OTN (10-5). Zac Anderson (2-0) struck out nine in five innings for the win while Dale Hinzman struck out three in two innings for the save. Matt Corner had two hits for Action (2-13).

Rondinelli Tuxedo 7, Livi Steel 1

Jason Bagoly’s bases-loaded triple in the top of the first inning gave Rondinelli an early lead. Bagoly added a double and a single while Drew Fitzpatrick had two hits, including a double, for Rondinelli (12-3). Adam Shrodek tossed a complete game with six strikeouts for the win. Camron Santiago and Kevin Marstellar had two hits each for Livi (3-12).

Dave Sugar Excavating 15, Youngstown Express 2

Travis Richey had three hits and Tom Cheslick drove home three runs for Sugar. Nick Crum, Joe Borrelli and Jordan Izzo had two hits each for Sugar (6-9). Joe Fontana went three innings allowing one earned run for the win. Eric French had a triple and a single for the Express (2-13).

1080 Media 9, Wharmby Sports 2

1080 Media used a 13-hit attack, led by Brad Byers, Vinny Natoli, Dan Popio, Justin Vrabel and James Coates with two each. Chris Morgan (2-0) tossed a complete game allowing one earned run with three strikeouts. Ben Bechtol and David Saluga had doubles for Wharmby (10-5).

Astro Falcons 4, Dave Sugar Excavating 2

Jared Turocy had four hits and Trent Vallinger pitched out of a jam in the bottom of the seventh for Astro. Shane Wagner added two hits and a pair of RBIs for Astro. Vallinger entered the game with two on and no outs in the bottom of the seventh and struck out all three batters he faced for the save. Tyler Royer went 52‚Ñ3 innings for the win, striking out eight.

Rondinelli Tuxedo 13, Action Physical Therapy 0

Jake Double had two triples, a single, scored three runs and drove home three more for Rondinelli. Kyle Vaclav added three hits while Drew Fitzpatrick scattered six hits in the five-inning shutout. Jason Bagoly had a single and a triple and Ed Reese added a pair of hits for the winners.

Roth Brothers 5, Livi Steel 4

NILES —Nick Reinthaler drove home the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning for Roth in a Friday night game. Reinthaler, Dan Mioni and Brock McGivern had two hits for Roth (8-6), with Mioni picking up the win on the mound in relief.

Youngstown AA

YOUNGSTOWN — Jae Leeworthy had three hits, while Matt Durkin had two to go along with three RBIs to lead Youngstown Metros over Roth Brothers, 6-3, on Friday. Dave Leon singled twice for Metros and Matt Pitzulo hit a double and had two RBIs. Alex Oles and Rob Morales combined on a three-hitter. Cameron Cimino, Jonathon Habuda and John Hay had the hits for Roth.

Warren AA

WARREN — Mike Swoboda had two hits, including a double, and Tom Popadak struck out four in two innings of relief as Champion Marlins scored two runs in the seventh inning to defeat Cleats Club Seat Grille 3-1 on Friday. Brian McClung singled twice for Cleats Club.

Leon’s Brewers 6, Knights 3

Jon Wagner and Jarrett Partridge had two hits each and Vince Gentile had three RBIs for Brewers. One of Wagner’s hits was a double. Josh Fulmer scattered six hits in a complete-game win. Jeremy Krol singled twice for the Knights.

Knights 9, Trumbull Merchants 1

Rick DiMuzio had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs to lead the Knights. Brett Dutton singled twice and had two RBIs, while John Thompson added a pair of hits and Nate Daugherty had two RBIs. Adam Morgan hit two singles for the Merchants.

P.I.&I Express 15, Cleats Club Seat Grille 8

Mike Carnahan had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs to lead the Express. Tom Jones and Chris Staley added two hits each, while Cory Hitt had four RBIs. Jones and Andy Wess both had two RBIs. Andrew Beachy hit a double and a single, and drove in three runs, for Cleats Club. Aaron Byler also doubled and two RBIs, while Josh Miller singled twice.
