Lists of vacation Bible schools open to the public will run on the Religion page. Please include the following information: The complete name of the church; address with city or township; time, date and location of sessions; program theme; ages or grades; and whether it’s free or there is a fee. Information should be submitted two weeks before the school’s opening or its reservation deadline. Who: Beulah Baptist Church.

What: “The Jesus Chronicles” is the theme.

When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through June 26. Breakfast is at 9 and lunch at 12:30 p.m.

Where: Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., Youngstown.

Details: The program is free and is geared to 4- to 12 -year-olds. Register the first day. Contact the Rev. H. Austin at the church, (330) 783-1332.

Who: Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

What: Vacation Bible school.

When: 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 22-26.

Where: Church, 1110 N. Salem-Warren Road, North Jackson.

Details: Sessions for preschool to 12-year-olds will include Bible study, crafts and music. For information, call the church at (330) 538-2630.

Who: Girard area churches.

What: “Discovery Canyon” theme is set.

When: 9 a.m. to noon June 22-26.

Where: Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St.

Details: Open to pre-kindergarten age (ages 4-5) through sixth grade (grade level for the fall of 2009). The “Kid to Kid” mission will collect monetary donations or new school supplies for the Emmanuel Center, where supplies will be distributed to local children in need. Advance registration is requested. One form per child must be completed. A $5 registration fee per child to help defray the cost of shirts, snacks and crafts would be appreciated. What: “The Jesus Chronicles — A Life-Changing Encounter” is the theme.

When: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 22-26.

Who: New Life Christian Fellowship.

What: “Operation Space” is the theme.

When: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Where: Church, 2088 Tibbetts Wick Road, Girard.

Details: The free space camp is geared to participants from 4 to 12 years old. There will be a “heavenly” activity area, where there will be crafts, music and snacks. Call the church at (330) 539-5333.

Who: Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church.

What: Vacation Bible school.

When: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 22-26.

Where: Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Road, Liberty Township.

Details: The Jubilee Gang, an interactive, Niclelodeon-style ministry team, will provide children with Bible-based lessons through games, skits and music. The event is free. For information, call (330) 539-6582.

Who: Zion Lutheran Church.

What: “Crocodile Dock” theme.

When: 9 a.m. to noon June 22-26.

Where: Church, 3300 Canfield Road, Cornersburg.

Details: The sessions will feature stories about Jesus, crafts, music, games and snacks for children from 4 years old through sixth grade. The cost is $10 per child; no more than $40 per family. To register, call (330) 792-4046.
