Lists of vacation Bible schools open to the public will run on the Religion page. Please include the following information: The complete name of the church; address with city or township; time, date and location of sessions; program theme; ages or grades; and whether it’s free or there is a fee. Information should be submitted two weeks before the school’s opening or its reservation deadline. What: “The Jesus Chronicles” is the theme.
When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through June 26. Breakfast is at 9 and lunch at 12:30 p.m.

Who: Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
What: Vacation Bible school.
When: 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 22-26.

Who: Girard area churches.
What: “Discovery Canyon” theme is set.
When: 9 a.m. to noon June 22-26.
Where: Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St.
Details: Open to pre-kindergarten age (ages 4-5) through sixth grade (grade level for the fall of 2009). The “Kid to Kid” mission will collect monetary donations or new school supplies for the Emmanuel Center, where supplies will be distributed to local children in need. Advance registration is requested. One form per child must be completed. A $5 registration fee per child to help defray the cost of shirts, snacks and crafts would be appreciated. Details: The free space camp is geared to participants from 4 to 12 years old. There will be a “heavenly” activity area, where there will be crafts, music and snacks. Call the church at (330) 539-5333.
Who: Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church.
