Mammograms offered at two locations

YOUNGSTOWN — The MammoVan, a mobile mammography unit, will be available for breast cancer screenings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday at Oakhill Renaissance Center, 345 Oakhill Ave., and Tuesday at the ACOP Center, 2051 Niles Road, Warren.

Financial assistance for the screening, transportation to appointments, breast cancer diagnostic testing, treatment, and follow-up care at local health care providers are available for eligible women who qualify. The service is sponsored by the YWCA ENCOREplus breast cancer awareness program and is supported by a grant from the Northeast Ohio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Walk-ins welcome.

Memorial picnic planned by family members

LAKE MILTON — The family of Kelly Everette Pennington will host the second annual memorial picnic in his honor beginning at 2 p.m. June 20 at their home, 16572 Oakwood Drive.

Pennington, who died two years ago at age 19, had played soccer for Austintown and was a graduate of Jackson-Milton High School.

The family invites those who knew him to celebrate his life with a day of fun and memories.

Items needed for display

GIRARD--The St. Rose Alumni Committee is seeking class photos, St. Rose memorabilia, newspaper articles and pictures to be included in a display at this year’s church festival, set for July 23-25.

Items should be mailed or dropped off at the church rectory and should be identified so they can be returned.

Pirogi makers needed

YOUNGSTOWN — The Polish Arts Club of Youngstown is inviting would-be pirogi makers to help make pirogi for the upcoming Youngstown State Festival of Arts.

No experience is needed.

Pirogi making will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 17, 24 and July 1 at St. Casimir Church, 145 Jefferson St, in the Brier Hill area.
