A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:
GIRARD
June 7
Assault: A Girard boy told police another male teen jumped the accuser as he walked near Elruth Court. The victim sustained a minor bloody nose.
Assault: A teenager in the 600 block of Church Hill Road reported another boy punched him in the face.
Theft: An MP3 player and accessories were missing from a residence in the 900 block of Beechwood Drive.
Attempted burglary: A screen window to an East Liberty Street apartment appeared to have been cut or torn, though no entry was made.
June 8
Aggravated menacing: A Girard woman told police a male threatened over the phone to kill her 16-year-old daughter.
Criminal damaging: A front window was broken at a home in the 400 block of East Prospect Street, resulting in a $100 damage estimate.
Theft: Someone took from a vehicle in the 400 block of North State Street loose change and 60 OxyContin pills.
Theft: A wallet was removed from a car in the 10 block of Townsend Avenue.
June 9
Criminal damaging: A window was cracked and damaged at an East Liberty Street business. Damage came to $500.
Theft: A man was suspected of stealing five DVDs from Family Video, 801 N. State St.
Breaking and entering: To a garage in the 100 block of Smithsonian Street. Stolen was a $6,200 four-wheel vehicle.
HUBBARD
June 5
Theft: Officers responded to a report of stolen golf carts at Deer Creek Golf Course, 7691 E. Liberty St.
Theft: A Fifth Avenue man reported money stolen from his bank account.
Arrest: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hubbard man accused of failing to appear in court to face charges of assault, complicity and possession of drug paraphernalia.
June 6
Possible robbery: An employee with a West Liberty Street gas station told authorities a man in his 20s stated he had been robbed. Police were unable to find the man after he left, a report said.
Criminal mischief: Damage was done to flags at a North Main Street business.
Identity theft: An East Water Street resident reported having been a victim.
June 8
Drug paraphernalia: Someone found a glass pipe used for drugs in a park off Roosevelt Drive.
Theft: A Mock Street man reported cigarettes have been removed from his back porch on several occasions.
June 9
Theft: A leaf blower was removed from a garage in the 200 block of Rebecca Avenue.
Fraud: A phony prescription was called in at CVS Pharmacy, 134 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
Bad check: Received at Hubbard Gas & Mini Mart, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
LIBERTY
June 5
Burglary: The front door to a home in the 3500 block of Fifth Avenue had been forced open. Stolen from a bedroom was a 42-inch flat-screen TV.
Recovered property: Officers found in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive a 1996 Buick that had been stolen in Youngstown. Its front bumper and a tire were damaged.
Drugs: A 20-year-old Youngstown man was charged with drug abuse after being pulled over near Euclid Boulevard. Twenty grams of suspected marijuana was found, a report showed.
Arrest: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to the arrest of a Boardman man, 44, wanted on a warrant from Ashtabula County.
Theft: A 41-year-old Youngstown man was booked on a charge from the township of failure to appear in court on a theft count.
June 6
Arrest: Weathersfield police handed a Girard man, 19, to Liberty police. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Theft by deception: An elderly township woman told authorities she paid $15,600 for roof work at her home, only to find the work was substandard or had not been completed.
Criminal damaging: A 1997 Oldsmobile in the 3000 block of Frederick Street had its steering column damaged, apparently after someone had tried to steal the car.
Drugs: Officers checked on a 26-year-old Girard woman asleep in her car on Church Hill-Hubbard Road and took her into custody after saying a syringe and spoon with suspected drug residue were found.
June 7
Menacing: Police responded to an irate man who had threatened a worker at an East Liberty Street motel. The man became angry when the employee refused to give him a refund after he claimed the hot tub in his room didn’t work, a report showed.
June 8
Criminal damaging: A key was used to cause $350 worth of damage to a car’s driver’s side in the 30 block of Louise Lane.
Theft: A Townsend Avenue woman’s wallet and cell phone were stolen.
Theft: A gold chain and $300 were stolen from an apartment in the 1100 block of Church Hill Road.
Drugs: A Girard man, 30, was cited on charges of possession of a criminal tool and dangerous drugs after having been stopped on state Route 193. Found was a digital scale with suspected marijuana residue and a bottle containing various pills, a report said.
Drugs: A 20-year-old Niles man was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when, police said, a bag and jar containing suspected marijuana, as well as a suspected marijuana pipe, were found during a traffic stop on Belmont Avenue.
Drugs: A traffic stop near Colonial Drive resulted in a 38-year-old Youngstown man’s being taken into custody on a felony warrant from Mahoning County. The charges were possession of cocaine and marijuana.
Arrest: A 56-year-old Las Vegas man staying at a Belmont Avenue motel called to surrender to police. He was wanted by Brookfield authorities on a probation-violation charge.
Theft: Three women left Denny’s Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., without paying their $32 food bill.
Assault: A woman at a Trumbull Avenue business told police another woman struck the accuser three times in the face, causing a cut to the bridge of her nose.
June 9
Theft/criminal damaging: Someone cut copper coolant lines to an air conditioner before removing the unit from a Tibbetts-Wick Road business.
Arrest: Police picked up a Youngstown man, 28, at the Mahoning County Jail who was wanted on a warrant from the township.
