Governor bringing education reform plan to Warren


WARREN — Gov. Ted Strickland will discuss his plans to reform education to improve the state’s economy at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Ajax Tocco Magnethermic on Overland Avenue N.E. in Warren.

The governor, a Democrat formerly of Lisbon, is visiting communities in Northeast Ohio today and Friday to discuss his efforts to revise and strengthen student assessments and change the state’s education system to, he said, better prepare students for jobs.

Strickland is in Canton and Akron today.

He’ll visit Wadsworth and Ajax Tocco in Warren on Friday.

Ajax Tocco designs and manufactures induction heating and melting equipment for various industries.
