Former AG Marc Dann, state reach agreement

COLUMBUS (AP) — Attorneys for the state watchdog and former Attorney General Marc Dann of Liberty have a settlement agreement that dismisses most remaining campaign finance charges against Dann, his family and his aides.

According to a copy of the agreement obtained today by The Associated Press, Dann’s campaign will acknowledge that his use of campaign funds to pay for travel for himself and his family were in violation of state law.

The state will acknowledge that Dann already has refunded some of the money and didn’t intentionally break the law.

It recommends Dann’s campaign pay a $1,000 fine.

The Ohio Elections Commission was considering Dann’s case this morning.
