“Beans!” Irish version of “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Brownlee Woods Branch of Youngstown Library, 4010 Sheridan Road. Youngstown Playhouse Theater auditions are 4-5:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Cast needed: males and females 10 and older and adults of all ages. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script. Performances are scheduled for daytime Aug. 3 and 10. (330) 788-8739.

MUSICIANS

Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings (violin, viola, cello), substitute brass and percussion for the 2008-09 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 Thursdays at the Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice. Krakowiaki Polish Folk Circle. Seeking local musicians and vocalists interested in performing with the group’s Village Folk Band. Open house 6-8 June 18, St. Casmir Catholic Church, 149 Jefferson St., Youngstown. Instrumentalists of cimbalom, violin, string bass, viola, clarinet, concertina and accordion.
