FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


WEDNESDAY

• American Legion Post 290, state Route 14, Columbiana, kitchen is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. Tonight is wing night from 6 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, a car show will be from 11 a.m. to dusk; dinners will be a half rack of ribs for $10, (chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad and baked beans will be available), and chicken breast dinners will be $7. There will be live music from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. On Sunday, breakfast is available and car show begins at 11 a.m.

THURSDAY

• Calvary United Methodist Church, state Route 164 at 165, North Lima, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out). Meals include baked chicken, dressing, gravy, baked potato, green beans and a brownie. The cost is $6. Drive up to the church door, and your dinner will be brought to you.

• Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

• St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $4.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance. This is the last sale until September.

SATURDAY

• Fowler United Methodist Church will serve pancake breakfasts from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Meals include sausage, eggs and a fruit cup. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12 and free for preschoolers.

• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza after the 4 p.m. Mass for the Feast of St. Anthony.

SUNDAY

• Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish will sponsor a baked chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the hall, 702 Cameron Ave., Youngstown. Meals include homemade stuffing, parsley potatoes, vegetable, applesauce, bread, coffee or tea, and homemade desserts. • Poland Masonic Temple, 7685 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, will serve rib-eye steak dinners from noon to 4 p.m. for Father’s Day, June 21. Meals will include an appetizer, baked potato, green beans, salad, rolls, dessert and beverage. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under. • St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will have a southern-style pulled-pork dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. June 20. • Sons of the American Legion, Mahoning Valley Squadron 15, Poland, will serve chicken dinners from 6 to 9 p.m. June 26. Meals include potato, coleslaw and bread. Beverages will be available. Tickets are $8 at the door or by calling (330) 565-5333.
