Epilepsy benefit features rocking, baking events

AUSTINTOWN — Mahoning Valley Fund is inviting the public to participate in a two-part fund-raising venture that will raise awareness to epilepsy.

The “Rocking for Epilepsy Awareness and Support” event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 27 at the Cracker Barrel, just off Interstate 80.

Community businesses, families, friends and clubs will sponsor rocking chairs, and there will be live entertainment, raffles and refreshments.

Anyone interested in rocking at the event is asked to call Janet Mau at (330) 270-8037 to reserve a chair.

In conjunction with the rocking event, there will be a cherry pie baking contest.

Pies are to be baked in 8-inch disposable pans, and presented with the recipe for judging at 11 a.m June 27. After judging, the pies will be sold to the highest bidder.
