Motorcycle crash survivor discharged from hospital

CHAMPION — The passenger of a motorcycle that lost control on N. Leavitt Road killing its driver has been discharged from the hospital.

Jaime Clapp, 33, of Warren, was riding with Lawrence Schilcher Jr., 45, of Warren, around 8:30 p.m. Saturday when Schilcher lost control of the motorcycle while going around a slight left curve.

Both people were thrown off the motorcycle as it struck two mailboxes then overturned.

Schilchler was pronounced dead at the scene, and Clapp was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Youngstown. She was released Sunday.
