Chess tourney planned by Warriors Inc.

YOUNGSTOWN — Warriors Inc. Community Chess Tournament will be June 20 at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 1806 Market St. It will be directed by Progress with Chess, and all ages and abilities are welcome. To register, call (330) 783-5440.

Warriors also has set its summer activities schedule: Gardening Club, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; Leadership Training, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mondays; Chess Club for ages 12 through adults, 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays; Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs, 8 a.m. to noon Thursdays; Financial Literacy, 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays; Creative Expressions classes, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays; Bike Club, 10 a.m. to noon Fridays.

Also, volunteers are needed for the organization’s Programs Plus. Male and female mentors ages 22 and older are needed to mentor youth and teens. Professionals also are needed to share about their career and life’s experiences. Call Wendy Robinson, community ministry liaison, at (330) 783-5440.
